There are many different tips on increasing your clinical speed, and they mostly center around one thing; being organized.  I had a mentor who loved to make blueprints that showed all his steps for any procedure.  At first, he had them written down, each and every thing he did, and eventually he remembered each step for each procedure.  As a clinical faculty member, I have learned that students love to hear these formulas for different procedures and often they find some great advice.  This works well for teaching assistants how to set up rooms and some offices even take photos of tray set ups for ease of learning.  For dentists being organized begins with data gathering and putting together a well-thought-out treatment plan. Try it and see how much easier things go.
